We made it through the obstacle course... WAHOO! Of course it was slow and steady, but I felt way better about my ability to communicate and giving Cowboy better releases. Now, we just build on that: faster and quicker...
... now that it is the end of the semester. Oh the irony.
Even though I feel like I'm still at the basics I can tell I've made a lot of progress this semester. Cowboy has changed a lot too:

At the beginning of the semester Cowboy was clearly a Right Brain Introvert. A right brain horse is submissive, defensive, fearful, unconfident, etc. Cowboy was mostly fearful and unconfident. It was also obvious that he was an introvert (his low body weight probably contributed to that) meaning he had low energy, was slower, more inside himself.

This is how Cowboy looks now. He is much more balanced. He displays both right and left brain characteristics which also means that he's gained confidence but still is a little reactive and spooky. I also think this is because he's spent more time in the learning zone (middle of right and left brain). Although he still is quite introverted, he displays a lot of extroversion when he plays or gets dominant. He's still young and that is probably why he is displaying a lot of these characteristics. He is trying them out.
